Give Teens the Best Foundation for Understanding the Bible

We’ve already talked about the great value that the Great Adventure Bible Timeline program has added to Catholic adult education. Imagine what could happen if people learned the same great fundamentals of understanding Sacred Scripture in their youth and got into the habit of reading living the Bible as they grew into adulthood!

That’s the dream of Mark Hart, host of the T3 Bible timeline. T3 teaches teens the Bible by showing them the “big picture” of salvation history. When young students of the Bible first understand the “story,” they are eager to learn more. The net result: teens begin to wrap their minds and hearts around the Scriptures. They come to see the Bible as a relevant part of their lives.

The T3 Bible Timeline uses the same excellent teaching strategies as the Great Adventure Bible Timeline program. It combines video instruction (which is pretty entertaining and filled with clear teaching) with Bible study and small group discussion. However, there is also a lot of flexibility for how it is used if you want to use it in a classroom setting.

I found the T3 Bible Timeline to be a great supplement to the Didache scripture textbook when I taught scripture class to high school freshmen. I split each episode into two, showing half of an episode after we finished studying the relevant scripture in class. The framework offered by the T3 Bible Timeline gave the class a great structure for reading and understanding scripture. I highly recommend this program!
